Day 1 – Foundations and BIA

  • Introduction to the BCM lifecycle and ISO 22301 requirements.
  • Establishing governance, policy, and scope for the BCM program.
  • Understanding the difference between RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective).
  • Conducting a Business Impact Analysis: Step-by-step guidance.
  • Mapping interdependencies and critical resource requirements.
  • Hands-on: BIA Worksheet completion for a sample department case study.

Day 2 – Risk Assessment and Strategy

  • Threat analysis: Identifying internal and external vulnerabilities.
  • Risk quantification techniques and impact likelihood scoring.
  • Developing recovery strategies: People, process, and technology.
  • Selecting cost-effective mitigation options and insurance considerations.
  • Designing the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documentation structure.
  • Hands-on: Drafting a department-level recovery procedure template.

Day 3 – Execution, Testing, and Maintenance

  • Crisis communication frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
  • Designing testing and exercising programs: From tabletop to simulation.
  • Implementing continuous improvement and performance monitoring.
  • Establishing audit and review cycles for plan sustainability.
  • Action planning: Developing a roadmap for BCM implementation.
  • Hands-on: Q&A session and collaborative Tabletop Exercise simulation.

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
