Course Description

The modern world demands vast quantities of power to operate everything from socket outlets, through to large industrial process plants. The high voltage electrical isolation training course has been produced to ensure your staff are trained in a variety of procedures when dealing with high voltage equipment or when isolating high voltage equipment.

This course covers the high voltage isolation procedures, applicable high voltage legislation and electrical safety rules and procedures.

A variety of high voltage electrical equipment and applications, the importance of work control documentation and competency requirements when working with high voltage are also discusses with real life case studies.

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of High Voltage Isolation
  • Describe the interactions of AC and DC systems on distribution Networks
  • Elaborate on High Voltage Electrical Isolation rules and procedures
  • Explain how a variety of High Voltage Equipment is used and maintained
  • Apply modern and historic practices and procedures
  • Demonstrate the important of work control documentation with regards to High Voltage systems

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for engineers, technicians and managers who are likely to be in position to carry on switching or work on parts of the system isolated by switching or manage work under those circumstances. Managers at decision-making positions should also be aware of legal obligations if not complying with procedures and code of practice. This course is also valuable for Operational staff and managers working in industrial and distribution systems, Maintenance engineers and technicians, Site Managers, Site Engineers and Senior Technicians working in Electrical Utility Companies, System and Substation Design Engineers working on Control and Earthing design.
