The ITIL® 4 Strategist: Direct, Plan, Improve course provides the practical skills necessary to create a learning and improving IT organization with a strong and effective strategic direction. Course Agenda

Day 1 – Foundations of Strategy and Direction

  • Understanding the scope and purpose of the DPI universal module.
  • Key principles and methods for effective direction setting.
  • Defining organizational culture and its impact on performance.
  • The role of governance and organizational change management.
  • Communication strategies to drive alignment throughout the enterprise.
  • Hands-on: Group workshop mapping communication channels to stakeholder needs.

Day 2 – Planning and Continual Improvement

  • The cycle of continual improvement models.
  • Assessing the current state using SWOT and GAP analysis.
  • Prioritizing improvements based on value and urgency.
  • Measuring progress using Critical Success Factors and KPIs.
  • Understanding the role of feedback loops in planning.
  • Hands-on: Worksheet exercise creating an Improvement Register entry.

Day 3 – Risk, Compliance, and Implementation

  • Managing risk in the context of strategic initiatives.
  • Integrating compliance requirements into operational workflows.
  • Effective delegation and empowerment in planning.
  • Synthesizing strategic objectives into team-level actions.
  • Course wrap-up, final Q&A, and personal action planning.
  • Hands-on: Role-play scenario presenting a change initiative to leadership.

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation. The instructor will evaluate the knowledge and skills of the participants according to the feedback given by participants.
