Day 1 – Foundations of Job Analysis

  • Introduction to the HR strategic framework and job analysis.
  • Key definitions: jobs, positions, and roles.
  • Methods for data gathering: observation, interviews, and questionnaires.
  • Identifying essential functions vs. marginal duties.
  • Legal compliance and documentation best practices.
  • Hands-on: Conducting a mock job analysis interview with a peer.

Day 2 – Writing Effective Job Descriptions

  • Anatomy of a high-quality job description.
  • Drafting job summaries and core responsibilities.
  • Defining knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs).
  • Writing for clarity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Handling complex job titles and hierarchical leveling.
  • Hands-on: Drafting and refining a job description from raw interview notes.

Day 3 – Job Evaluation and Internal Equity

  • Overview of qualitative and quantitative evaluation systems.
  • Detailed study of the Point Factor Method.
  • Addressing internal pay equity and fairness.
  • Communicating evaluation results to stakeholders.
  • Review, action planning, and final Q&A.
  • Hands-on: Performing a weighted point factor scoring exercise for three sample roles.

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
