Electrical protection devices are a fundamental and critical aspect of electrical installations. Protection is applied on a component basis. Relays are associated with each major component of the power distribution system to detect various forms of distress associated with those components.
If one of those relays operates, which means that an output contact protective devices which then isolates the defective system components. It may be convenient to think of the circuit breaker as the muscle that does the work of isolating the component, while the relay is the brain which decides that isolation is required.
This course presents a comprehensive and systematic description of the concepts and principles of operation and application of protection schemes for various power system elements; the practical solutions for specifying the correct type of electrical protection; comprehensive understanding of principles and selection of relays; design developing of protection schemes; the construction and functions of instrument transformers; types of grounding system and the earthing fault protection.
Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:
This course is designed for engineers and technicians from electricity supply industry, technical management professionals, department leaders, engineers and technical personnel in power utilities, petrochemical plants, service professionals of large infrastructure projects and maintenance and operations technicians.
All courses conducted by EdTech are begun with a written Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation. The instructor will evaluate the knowledge and skills of the participants according to the feedback given by participants. This proactive method will help to recognize the benefits and knowledge gained by participants through the course.
Facilitated by a highly experienced specialist; this program will be conducted using extensively interactive methods, encouraging participants to share their own experiences and apply the program material to real-life work situations in order to stimulate group discussions and improve the efficiency of the subject coverage. Percentages of the total course hour classification are:
Participants will be provided with a comprehensive reference manual. This manual is a compilation of core valuable information, references, presentation methods and inspiring reading materials.
At the completion of the course, all participants who successfully accomplished the required contact hours will receive an EdTech Course Completion Certificate as a testimony to their commitment to professional development and further education.
