Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Learn Fluid phase behavior and basic fluid properties
  • Know PVT measurements and sampling methods
  • Properly characterize the plus fraction and to tune an EOS
  • Learn process of lumping and de-lumping
  • Prepare PVT data for reservoir simulation
  • Understand the miscible process and how is it modeled.
  • Understand proper Planning of a PVT study including sampling strategy
  • Identify the quality check of the data provided by vendors
  • Appropriate regressing methods How to develop a PVT model (EOS) that math the available data
  • Prepare a fluid sampling strategy for a defined field
  • Prepare the required PVT lab measurements to characterize the reservoir fluid.
  • QC and validation of the lab PVT measurements
  • Properly characterize the plus fraction
  • Develop and tune an EOS model to deliver a consistent PVT model.
  • Prepare PVT data to be used in the simulation (EOS+ Black oil model)
