  • AC circuit analysis (single-phase and three-phase)
  • Power calculations, voltage drop, and short circuit currents
  • Introduction to electrical codes and standards

Electrical Equipment and Systems

  • Transformers: types, connections, and sizing
  • Switchgear and circuit breakers: selection and application
  • Motors: types, starting methods, and control
  • Introduction to power distribution systems (primary and secondary)

Electrical Design Standards and Codes

  • In-depth coverage of relevant electrical codes (NEC, IEC) and standards (IEEE)​ 
  • Grounding and bonding requirements
  • Interpretation and application of electrical drawings and schematic

Electrical Design Software and Drafting

  • Introduction to electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)​ 
  • Creating and interpreting electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, panel schedules)
  • Preparing electrical specifications and datasheets

Project Management and Case Studies

  • Project management considerations for electrical design
  • Coordination with other disciplines

Assessment Methodology
