Course Description

This 5-day training program is designed to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of the ISO 45001:2018 standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems.

Day 1

Registration, Welcome & Introduction

Pre-Test

Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)

  • Introduction to OH&S concepts: workplace hazards, risks, injuries, and illnesses.
  • The cost of workplace incidents (human and financial).
  • Importance of legal compliance with OH&S regulations.
  • Global perspective on workplace safety and ISO's role.

Day 2

Unveiling ISO 45001:2018

  • History and development of the ISO 45001 standard.
  • Key elements of an OH&S management system framework (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
  • Demystifying the structure and clauses of ISO 45001:2018.
  • Comparison with the previous OHSAS 18001 standard (if applicable).

Day 3

Core Principles of ISO 45001

  • Context of the organization and its influence on OH&S.
  • Leadership commitment and worker participation in safety.
  • Risk identification, assessment, and control strategies.
  • Establishing clear objectives and targets for continual improvement.

Day 4

Implementing and Maintaining an OH&S Management System

  • Operational controls and safe work procedures.
  • Importance of communication, consultation, and awareness.
  • Incident investigation, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring, measurement, and evaluation of OH&S performance.

Day 5

The Road to a Safe Workplace

  • Benefits of achieving ISO 45001 certification.
  • Individual roles and responsibilities under ISO 45001.
  • Continuous improvement and the evolving culture of safety.

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation. The instructor will evaluate the knowledge and skills of the participants according to the feedback given by participants. This will help to recognize the benefits and the level of knowledge gained by participants through the course.
