Course Description

This comprehensive 5-day training program is designed to provide a solid understanding of the operation, maintenance, inspection, and safety practices associated with low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear systems. Switchgear is critical for electrical power distribution and system protection, and proper maintenance ensures the reliability, safety, and longevity of these systems.

Participants will explore the functional design of different types of switchgear, learn maintenance procedures, understand common failure modes, and apply diagnostic and testing techniques. The course also emphasizes the importance of industry safety standards and best practices for minimizing risks during maintenance operations.

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the types and components of LV, MV, and HV switchgear
  • Understand operational principles, safety features, and system integration
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
  • Diagnose switchgear faults and apply appropriate troubleshooting techniques
  • Perform condition monitoring using modern testing tools
  • Follow relevant electrical safety regulations and maintenance standards
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for various switchgear systems

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for Electrical Engineers and Technicians, Power Plant and Substation Maintenance Personnel, Industrial Electricians, Electrical Supervisors and Inspectors, Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, Utility and Facility Engineers, Engineers involved in commissioning and asset management.
