Course Description

This 5-day advanced course focuses on dynamic simulation of power systems using PSS®E, enabling participants to model, analyze, and evaluate system stability under various operational scenarios. The training covers techniques for transient stability analysis, fault studies, generator modeling, and advanced simulation practices. Participants will gain hands-on experience in simulating realistic disturbances, interpreting results, and implementing mitigation strategies to enhance system reliability.

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of dynamic simulation in PSS®E.
  • Model generators, exciters, governors, and other dynamic components.
  • Conduct transient stability analysis and fault simulations.
  • Analyze system responses to disturbances and interpret simulation results.
  • Develop strategies to improve power system stability and reliability.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for power system engineers, planners, and operators responsible for stability studies, simulation, and system planning.
