Course Description

The Agile & Scrum Master Certification program is designed to provide participants with deep understanding and practical mastery of Agile principles, Scrum framework, roles, events, and artifacts. The course prepares candidates to perform effectively as Scrum Masters and equips them with tools to lead Agile teams, facilitate collaboration, remove impediments, and deliver high‑value products. It also prepares participants to sit for a globally recognized Scrum Master Certification exam (e.g., PMI‑ACP®, PSM I, or CSM® depending on provider).

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

Day 1: Agile Foundations and Scrum Framework Essentials

  • Introduction to Agile: history, values, and principles (Agile Manifesto)
  • Traditional vs Agile project approaches
  • Overview of Agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean
  • Scrum framework fundamentals: Empiricism and Scrum pillars
  • Scrum roles: Scrum Master, Product Owner, Development Team
  • Scrum artifacts: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Increment
  • Scrum events: Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective

Day 2: Scrum Roles and Scrum Master Mastery

  • Responsibilities of the Scrum Master
  • Servant leadership and coaching mindset
  • Supporting the Product Owner and Development Team
  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies effectively
  • Handling team dynamics and removing impediments
  • Building self organizing and high performing teams
  • Agile communication and stakeholder engagement

Day 3: Agile Planning, Estimation and Value Delivery

  • Product visioning and roadmapping
  • User stories: definition, INVEST criteria, and acceptance criteria
  • Agile estimation techniques: Planning Poker, T shirt sizing, story points
  • Release planning and prioritization methods (MoSCoW, WSJF)
  • Sprint planning best practices
  • Managing work in progress (WIP) and team commitment
  • Definition of Done (DoD) and quality checkpoints

Day 4: Tracking, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement

  • Agile metrics and reporting: velocity, burndown/burnup charts
  • Monitoring flow and team performance indicators
  • Using Agile tools (Jira/ Azure Boards/ Trello) for sprint tracking
  • Managing impediments and risk in Agile delivery
  • Scrum Retrospectives: techniques and continuous improvement
  • Scaling Scrum basics (Scrum of Scrums, Nexus, SAFe overview)
  • Facilitating cross team collaboration and governance

Day 5: Certification Preparation, Mock Exam and Agile Adoption

  • Agile transformation and organizational change approaches
  • Common challenges in Agile adoption and practical solutions
  • Preparing for the Scrum Master certification exam
  • Exam format, sample questions, and test taking strategies
  • Mock Scrum Master certification exam (timed practice)
  • Review of answers, rationales, and feedback
  • Final Q&A, key takeaways, and action plan

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
