This 5-day course provides participants with advanced skills in designing, implementing, and analyzing Balanced Scorecards (BSC) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive strategic performance. Participants will learn to align organizational objectives with measurable metrics, create actionable dashboards, and use data to make informed business decisions. The course emphasizes practical tools, frameworks, and case studies for effective performance management.

Day 1 – Introduction to Balanced Scorecard & Strategic Alignment

  • Overview of Balanced Scorecard framework and perspectives (Financial, Customer, Internal Processes, Learning & Growth)
  • Linking organizational strategy to operational objectives
  • Understanding KPIs and their role in performance management
  • Hands-on exercise: Mapping organizational objectives to BSC perspectives

Day 2 – Designing KPIs & Metrics

  • Identifying relevant KPIs for each perspective
  • KPI characteristics: SMART criteria and strategic relevance
  • Leading vs lagging indicators
  • Hands-on exercise: Developing KPIs for a sample business unit

Day 3 – Scorecard Development & Data Integration

  • Designing BSC templates and dashboards
  • Integrating KPI data from multiple sources
  • Data visualization best practices for scorecards
  • Hands-on exercise: Creating a functional BSC dashboard

Day 4 – Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Interpreting KPI results and identifying performance gaps
  • Trend analysis, benchmarking, and target setting
  • Linking scorecard analysis to decision-making and corrective actions
  • Hands-on exercise: Analyzing KPI reports and recommending improvements

Day 5 – Implementation, Review & Continuous Improvement

  • Implementing BSC and KPIs across teams and departments
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and updating KPIs and scorecards
  • Case studies: Successful BSC and KPI implementations
  • Q&A, wrap-up, and best practices for sustainable performance management

Assessment Methodology
