Course Description

This intensive 5-day course is designed for graphic designers, illustrators, and creative professionals who want to master Adobe Illustrator. Participants will learn advanced vector design techniques, professional workflow optimization, complex typography, 3D effects, and integration with other Adobe apps, culminating in hands-on projects that simulate real-world professional design scenarios.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Master advanced vector drawing and path manipulation techniques.​
  • Create complex illustrations, infographics, and professional layouts.
  • Apply advanced color, gradients, and effects, including 3D and perspective tools.
  • Use typography creatively and efficiently for branding and design projects.
  • Integrate Illustrator with Photoshop, After Effects, and InDesign for multimedia workflows.
  • Prepare artwork for print, web, and digital media with professional output standards.

Welcome & Introduction

Pre-Test

Day 1: Advanced Vector Tools & Workflow Optimization

  • Illustrator workspace for efficiency and customization
  • Advanced shape-building, pen tool mastery, and pathfinder techniques
  • Complex selections, layers, and grouping strategies
  • Symbols, brushes, and pattern creation for workflow speed
  • Hands-on exercise: Complex vector illustration or logo creation

Day 2: Typography, Color & Effects Mastery

  •  Advanced typography: fonts, kerning, tracking, and type on paths
  • Gradient mesh, gradient tools, and color blending techniques
  •  Advanced masking: opacity masks, clipping masks, and compound paths
  • Effects and styles: drop shadows, glows, distortions, and appearances
  • Hands-on exercise: Illustrated poster or creative typography project

Day 3: Illustration & Layout Design

  • Multi-artboard projects and complex document setup
  • Infographics, charts, and vector illustrations
  • Perspective grids, isometric design, and advanced shape tools
  • Integrating assets from Photoshop and other Adobe apps
  • Hands-on exercise: Complete infographic or multi-artboard design

Day 4: 3D & Advanced Effects

  • 3D extrusion, revolving objects, and mapping artwork on 3D shapes
  • Advanced blending, transparency, and opacity techniques
  • Advanced pattern creation and complex brushes
  • Preparing interactive and digital artwork for web and multimedia
  • Hands-on exercise: 3D logo or product mockup project
Day 5: Project Work, Workflow Integration & Export
  • Final project: Branding package, animated/vector-ready artwork, or professional illustration
  • Exporting, printing, and preparing files for various media
  • Integration with After Effects, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Best practices, workflow tips, and troubleshooting

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation. The instructor will evaluate the knowledge and skills of the participants according to the feedback given by participants.
