Course Description

The Certified Crisis Management Professional program is a practical and scenario-based training designed to equip professionals with the skills to prepare for, respond to, manage, and recover from organizational crises. The course focuses on crisis leadership, emergency preparedness, business continuity, stakeholder communication, media handling, incident command structures, and post-crisis recovery. Participants will learn how to develop crisis response plans, conduct crisis simulations, and strengthen organizational resilience using globally recognized crisis management best practices.

  • Types of crises (operational, reputational, cyber, financial, natural disasters, terrorism)
  • Crisis lifecycle: prevention, preparedness, response, recovery    Crisis management governance and leadership roles
  • Crisis readiness assessment and organizational vulnerabilities
  • Building a crisis management framework and policies

Day 2: Crisis Planning & Incident Command Systems

  • Crisis response planning methodology
  • Crisis Management Team (CMT) structure and responsibilities
  • Incident Command System (ICS) fundamentals
  • Decision-making under uncertainty and time pressure
  • Resource management and coordination with external agencies
  • Escalation procedures and emergency operations center (EOC) setup

Day 3: Crisis Communication & Media Handling

  • Crisis communication principles and stakeholder expectations
  • Internal communication strategies (employees, unions, management)
  • External communication (clients, suppliers, regulators, community)
  • Media handling, press releases, spokesperson skills
  • Social media crisis management and rumor control
  • Reputation management and trust rebuilding strategies

Day 4: Crisis Response Simulation & Business Continuity Integration

  • Integrating crisis management with Business Continuity Management (BCM)
  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA) basics
  • Recovery strategies and continuity planning
  • Cyber crisis management and ransomware response basics
  • Managing multi-site incidents and supply chain disruptions
  • Crisis response simulation (tabletop exercise)

Day 5: Recovery & Lessons Learned 

  • Post-crisis recovery planning and restoration of operations
  • Crisis documentation, reporting, and legal considerations
  • Psychological support and employee well-being during crises
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) after crisis events
  • After Action Review (AAR) and continuous improvement
  • Developing organizational resilience and long-term crisis strategy
  • Capstone assessment and crisis management plan presentation

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
