Course Description

The Certified ISO Vibration Analyst – Category I (CAT I) program is a specialized training designed for maintenance and reliability professionals to acquire fundamental skills in vibration analysis for rotating machinery. This course aligns with ISO standards (ISO 18436-2) and provides hands-on knowledge on vibration measurement, data collection, signal interpretation, and fault detection. Participants will learn to identify common mechanical faults such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, and bearing defects, preparing them for the internationally recognized ISO CAT I certification exam.

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Understand vibration theory and measurement fundamentals.
  • Identify vibration sources and types in rotating machinery.
  • Perform vibration data collection according to ISO standards.
  • Analyze time and frequency domain signals.
  • Detect common mechanical faults: imbalance, misalignment, looseness, and bearing defects.
  • Apply route-based vibration monitoring techniques.
  • Generate basic vibration reports with observations and recommendations.
  • Prepare for the ISO CAT I certification examination.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for maintenance engineers, reliability engineers, mechanical technicians, rotating equipment specialists, and predictive maintenance personnel aiming to become certified ISO CAT I vibration analysts.
