Course Description

This 3-day course equips procurement and compliance professionals with the knowledge and tools to identify, prevent, and investigate contract and procurement fraud. Participants will learn fraud typologies, red flags, internal control frameworks, and investigation techniques applicable to procurement environments. The course emphasizes building robust anti-fraud systems and fostering a culture of integrity in procurement functions.

  • Real-world procurement fraud cases and lessons learned
  • Legal and regulatory frameworks (anti-bribery, anti-corruption laws)
  • Hands-on: Fraud scenario analysis and vulnerability assessment exercises

Day 2 – Prevention & Detection

  • Internal controls for fraud prevention in procurement
  • Segregation of duties and approval authority frameworks
  • Vendor due diligence and supplier vetting processes
  • Red flag identification and monitoring techniques
  • Whistleblowing systems and speak-up culture

Day 3 – Investigation & Response

  • Responding to suspected procurement fraud
  • Investigation planning and evidence gathering
  • Interview techniques in fraud investigations
