Course Description

This 3-day course provides participants with essential knowledge and practical skills for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of dangerous goods in compliance with international regulations. Participants will learn dangerous goods classification systems, regulatory requirements, packaging and labeling standards, and emergency response procedures. The course ensures participants can fulfill their legal obligations and maintain safety when dealing with hazardous materials.

  • International regulations: IATA, IMDG, ADR, and local requirements
  • The nine classes of dangerous goods
  • Dangerous goods classification and identification
  • UN numbers and proper shipping names
  • Packing groups and hazard communication
  • Hands-on: Classification exercises and regulatory reference practice

Day 2 – Packaging, Labeling & Documentation

  • Packaging requirements and performance standards
  • Dangerous goods labeling and marking requirements
  • Placarding for vehicles and containers
  • Dangerous goods documentation: air waybills, declarations, and manifests
  • Segregation requirements and compatibility
  • Special provisions and exceptions
  • Hands-on: Labeling, marking, and documentation completion exercises

Day 3 – Handling, Storage & Emergency Response

  • Safe handling procedures for different dangerous goods classes
  • Storage requirements and facility considerations
  • Loading, unloading, and segregation in transport
  • Emergency response procedures and spill management
  • Personal protective equipment for dangerous goods handling
  • Incident reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Q&A, wrap-up, and competency assessment

End of the Course

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
