Course Description

This 5-day intensive course provides comprehensive firefighting training covering fire science, firefighting techniques, equipment operation, rescue procedures, and safety protocols. Participants will develop the knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to fire emergencies, protect life and property, and operate safely in hazardous fire environments. The course combines classroom learning with practical hands-on exercises and simulations.

Course Objectives

Day 1 – Fire Science & Safety Fundamentals

Day 2 – Firefighting Equipment & Techniques

  • Firefighting equipment: hoses, nozzles, and appliances
  • Water supply and pumping operations
  • Fire extinguishers: types and applications
  • Firefighting techniques: direct attack, indirect attack, and defensive operations
  • Ventilation techniques and smoke management
  • Foam firefighting for flammable liquid fires 

Day 3 – Structural Firefighting & Building Construction

  • Building construction types and fire behavior in structures
  • Search and rescue techniques
  • Forcible entry and access procedures
  • Ladder operations and working at heights
  • Interior firefighting operations and tactics
  • Salvage and overhaul operation

Day 4 – Special Hazards & Emergency Response

  • Vehicle fires and extrication basics
  • Wildland firefighting fundamentals
  • Hazardous materials incidents and firefighter safety
  • Electrical fires and utilities hazards
  • Confined space fire emergencies 

Day 5 – Emergency Operations & Practical Assessment

  • Incident command system and emergency operations
  • Communication and coordination during emergencies
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) operations
  • Firefighter survival and emergency procedures
  • Physical fitness and wellness for firefighters

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation. The instructor will evaluate the knowledge and skills of the participants according to the feedback given by participants.
