Course Description

This 5-day comprehensive technical course provides in-depth training in substation automation systems (SAS), covering architecture, communication protocols, intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), SCADA integration, and practical applications. Participants will learn IEC 61850 standard, automation system design, configuration, testing, and maintenance. The course prepares participants to implement and manage modern substation automation solutions.

Day 3 – IED Configuration & Integration

  • Protection and control logic implementation

  • Network configuration and management
Day 4 – SCADA Integration & Advanced Applications

  • SCADA system integration with SAS
  • Data acquisition and control
  • Synchrophasor and wide-area monitoring
  • Distributed automation and self-healing grids
  • Condition monitoring integration
  • Advanced applications: volt/VAR control, load shedding
Day 5 – Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance

  • Commissioning procedures for SAS

Assessment Methodology
