Course Description

This 3-day hands-on course provides comprehensive training in WaterGEMS software for water distribution system hydraulic modeling and analysis. Participants will learn to build network models, perform hydraulic simulations, analyze system performance, design optimization, and generate reports. The course develops practical skills for water distribution system planning, design, and operations using industry-standard modeling software.

Day 1 – WaterGEMS Fundamentals & Model Building

  • Introduction to WaterGEMS software and interface
  • Water distribution system components and modeling
  • Building network models: pipes, junctions, tanks, pumps
  • Importing GIS and CAD data
  • Defining system demands and patterns
  • Model data management and organization

  Day 2 – Hydraulic Analysis & Simulations

  • Steady-state hydraulic analysis
  • Extended period simulation (EPS)
  • Pressure analysis and zone management
  • Pump operation and optimization
  • Water quality modeling basics
  • Fire flow and emergency scenario analysis

  Day 3 – Design, Optimization & Reporting

  • Network design and sizing
  • System optimization and cost analysis
  • Scenario management and alternatives comparison
  • Calibration techniques and validation
  • Generating reports and presentations

Assessment Methodology

All courses conducted by EdTech will begin with a Pre-evaluation and end with a Post-evaluation.
