Course Description

The application of motors are numerous and varies and the types in use today range between large and small simple and complicated. Even with the most efficient maintenance, all these have to be repaired sooner or later. This course designed to  in a practical way how rewinding is carried out.

The course equips learners with the skills and knowledge required in key aspects of this field including how to safely and productively rewind and repair electric rotating machinery, transformers, and related electrical apparatus.

Course Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the terminology used in winding like pole, coil pitch, etc.
  • Understand the procedure followed for re-winding of all kind of electric motors
  • Perform proper rewinding of different capacity motors.
  • Learn varnishing, types of varnishes and methods of impregnation
  • Methods of testing and general faults in transformer coil and concept of DC supply
  • Understand the fundamentals of electrical equipment, electricity, current, voltage, power, and circuits of different capacity motors.
  • Study the methods of dismantling the burnt winding wire, procedure for securing coil ends on armature
  • Carry out impregnation and testing of armature winding

Who Should Attend?
